How Television commercial don’t reach their target audience

 For example the 2008/ 2009 McDonald R & B singing commercial. It’s a commercial about some guy sing a passionate song about his women creeping around with McDonald chicken McNuggets. Creeping with McNuggets come on who was this commercial targeting to. In my option the commercial and the song was annoying. I thought it was racial target audience but really embarrassing. In fact every time the commercial came on me or my husband changed the channel. But the bad thing about the commercial is the song it’s a catch song and you walk around hearing people singing. Other people may not  see the commercial as such but I did and what since does it make.

Global Market is Important

Many years ago the international market was not that important but today it is kind of not an option, advertisement is a way to communicate with the whole world. A lot of companies are realizing that international marketing will increased their company sales and profit. While other hope to bring other consumer and business aboard. I think the key her is to make money and the way to do that is to make sure everyone knows about your product or product of service. And lest face it I just came back from living in Europe for four years and those younger generation really want have apart of the American culture from the clothes to the movies and the music. Although the main play the see American culture is when they look at television or movies, but all they see is Hollywood and New York. So if we are selling our product we need to advertise just as we do in America. For example there is not a place that you can go in this world that does not advertise for the tennis shore master Nike nor is there place that doesn’t advertise for the fast food master McDonalds. These are two very successful companies that have always been up on the development of global market and advertisement for years. So all marketing company should be like Nike and just do it go global.

 

Trademark

It is difficult to sell product until name recognition of the product. That is when you need to develop a trademark. What is a trademark, a brand name, a logo, a word, a symbol, a phase, a color, design, and even the packaging design could be a trademark anything that can identify that product is a trademark. Some example of trademarks are the apple logo for apple computer, priceless a word for master card, and Just do it the phase for Nike. Specifically a trademark is used by a company to be registered and protected by the law.

            Trademark unlike patents can be renewed over and over again as long as the business. Trademarks can also be termed service marks. Service marks are used by their owner to identify a service. You will use trademark symbols TM for trademark, or SM for service mark which shows the right to the marks without having been registered.  But once a trademark has been federal registered the symbol ® can only be used after the mark is registered in the USPTO. I think that a trademark is the beginning of a successful advertising and the remembrance of your business or your product.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Television has the power

 

Television is the world information center. It’s a fact that television has impacts the world, from the local news to the latest electronics being invented of seas. Television is the center of marketplace we are giving ideas and then we have a change to gather the information, compare and make a decision. Kleppner discussed how good television advertising focus on the consumer dreams for example the exhibit 19.1 BB&T focused on the consumer instead of the pushing bank products in this advertising.

            My question to everyone is does today’s television have the power to convince us to buy that brand product or using that service? Does the television tell us our status and self worth?  Driving the Cadillac is a luxury automobile which shows we are doing well financially, or if we buy this certain golf clubs my game might improve a lot because this is the same clubs Tiger Woods uses and he has such a smooth swing. It not the golf cub people by the practice he put into his game, and a Cadillac does not show you have money piled up in the bank.

Getting their Attention

 

Today’s advertising has to work very hard to get noticed. It is obvious you can not sell to people until you get their attention. To come up with a good attention getter just like any other ad you have to know you target market and what they like or their problems. When I think of an advertising attention grabber I think of anything out of the normal just over the top different, something you can identify with, or something big in your face where you have to notice it like the big blimp huge floating advertisement or the get more chicken billboard because the COW is in 3 D.

            Kleppner’s Advertising Procedure state’s that there are three basic means of attracting attention:

  1. Using the visual alone
  2. Using the headline colors
  3. Using a combination of the visual and headline

Visual alone takes great creative skills. The sky is the limit you can use billboards, mobile billboards, Magazine, banners and even clothing you just want to use any thing that will pull the people in. Headlines that will make you want to read this. Face it a lot of us pick up a magazine a flip through it to the contents and read the headlines. 75% of the buying decision was made by the headlines.  There is so many different ways of getting the eye of the beholder, but it comes to know who eyes you want to catch.

Internet Advertising

The internet is growing more and more everyday. Everybody is connected to the internet in one way or another. Research shows that more young adults from the age 13 to 24 are spending more time on the internet today than watching TV. So why shouldn’t every business use the World Wide Web as a marketing tool to advertise and communicate with the world. The web is were it is at! You can advertise in many different ways from you tube ads, to pop ups, to banners and who knows what the future will bring. Not only can you get information on a product or product of service, but you can get a better deal some time you make even be able to cutting out the middle man and go right to the source. You can also view how other people rated the product and all at the same time learn as much about the company and what all they have to offer you. A good thing for the business is that advertising on the web is cheaper way to advertise your product all over the world. While we were station over seas we did a lot of buying off the internet and it’s also a great way for the businesses to keep track their hits better.

Trouble with Billboards

 

Usely when we think of outdoor advertising we think of the colorful billboards along the highways.  But billboards are not the only outdoor advertising you have park benches, poster, and signs on buses and taxi etc. But with outdoor advertising there could also be trouble. What kind of trouble? Well that is the number one question for Sony today?  Sony billboard advertising campaign for the new white version of its PSP video game was pulled.

The billboard showed a white woman grabbing the face of a black women and read “PlayStation Portable White is Coming.” Couldn’t Sony have found a better way to show the contrast between the two colors the old black PSP and the new white PSP? Um which leaves the question what was Sony thinking? Even though this billboard was pulled its still there, what I mean by that is that is one of the advantages of outdoor advertising it successfully reaches the people you can fast forward it not flip through the page or throw it out. You have been expose to it whether you like it or not.

 

 

 

 

Magazine Advertising

There are just as many different magazines in the world as there are almost radio stations and television channels. Magazines advertising, a different kind of attention grabber, colorful stories jumping off the pages at the reader.  Magazine advertising is entirely another world of advertising. Just think of the way it reaches its audience with each very on interest. Talk about a target market, with magazines there is no guessing with the ads. For example if you scrapbook and you are reading a scrap booking magazine I know that it is your current interest at hand you either already scrapbook, or you are thinking about starting therefore you are paying attention to every ad in the magazine you are reading. Another good thing about this scrapbook magazine is that not only will you get to enjoy it for a few week as you do television ad, more than likely when you are begin anew project or just forgot something you will pull this magazine out again and notice an ad you didn’t take advantage of before. Mean while in the months to come you will be pass this very same magazine on to a fellow friend, family member or co worker so they to a view the wonderful world of magazine advertising.

Mid Term Jingle

 

I have created a verb jingle

(Low up beat music playing in the background, kind like you are at open mic or spoken words café, but in the tune of the gospel song A brighter day. Then a low but strong ad live voice in the back-ground singing there’s going to be a new day a new day over and over.)

 

 

A mother cries (times 2)

She has no place to go,

No place to hide her pain

It can’t be explained

Afraid of what her mother might say

She packs her bags and leaves a note

Gray skies the forecast is rain

Little did she know at that time her body was the only interest he had at his age

Mislead by false love, fell virgin sexual preys

Radio Advertising

Advertisers are always looking for a new way to grab hold of the people. With so many different ways to reach the public what better way then through radio. The radio advertising has been around since the beginning of time. I think business forget the potential of the radio. What better way to reach million of people then while they are in their cars, at work, at home, and even in public setting then through the radio. Just think while you are in your car, or in a doctor office and you hear a commercial with a catchy jiggle that jiggle always gets stuck in your head and you find yourself singing it all day then the co worker besides you start singing it to. The fact is that in many of today’s homes people are by passing the commercials while they are watching television. And they are not buying magazines when they can see what they need or get the coupon on the internet. The radio is a good tool today you have internet radio as well as satellite radio so it covering a larger area. Another benefit of radio ads are they are especially good for new or small business because they are cheaper.  I know radio ads would be in my plans for advertising my business or product.
